Tattoo Removal Aftercare: Healing with Confidence
Laser tattoo removal is more than just a treatment—it’s a process. And while the laser does the heavy lifting, your skin does the real work in the days and weeks that follow. At MyTime by Sue, we want every client to feel confident in their results, and that starts with great aftercare.
Right after your session, your skin will feel sensitive—similar to a sunburn. During the first two days, the priority is to keep the area clean, dry, and protected. Avoid touching or picking at the skin, and gently pat the area dry if you need to clean it. No harsh soaps or scrubbing—this is the moment to be gentle.
Sun exposure is the biggest enemy of healing skin. We strongly recommend keeping the area completely covered or applying broad-spectrum SPF if you must go outside. Also avoid hot baths, saunas, pools, and anything that can irritate the skin, like tight or rough clothing.
To support healing, apply a fragrance-free ointment like Aquaphor or a medical-grade balm, especially in the first few days. Loose, breathable clothing will also help avoid friction on the treated area. Skip anything scented, medicated, or heavy—your skin needs simplicity and airflow.
It’s normal to experience redness, swelling, itching, and light scabbing as your body begins the healing process. You may also notice slight blistering—don’t be alarmed, it’s a common response. However, if you see signs of infection like pus, extreme pain, or prolonged swelling, reach out immediately. At MyTime by Sue, your well-being is always our priority.
Tattoo fading isn’t instant. It can take a few weeks to notice significant changes, and full results typically show after multiple sessions. The body gradually flushes out the fragmented ink particles over time, so patience is key.
Want to support your body’s healing? Drink lots of water, eat nutrient-rich foods, and avoid smoking—your lymphatic system needs to be in top shape to eliminate ink and restore your skin.
Every skin type heals differently. That’s why we offer ongoing support post-treatment. If you’re unsure about how your skin is reacting, or you just want to check in, we’re only a call or message away.
Laser tattoo removal is a journey—and with the right aftercare, it can be a smooth and empowering one. Let’s make your skin's fresh start a beautiful one, from the moment you walk out of our studio to the final fade.
